Here is an absolutely unique property situated in the tiny hamlet of Anse Soldat on Dominica’s north east coast.  With barely a handful of beaches enjoying calm waters for swimming on the Atlantic side of the island, this is truly a rare opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind beach hideaway.

A solid wooden cabin is perched just steps from the beach which enjoys additional protection by carefully installed boulders from the sea.  The jungled hillside and the peninsula reaching out several hundred feet into the sea perfectly protect the building against the elements. Absolutely no damage whatsoever was sustained during the passage of Hurricane Maria in 2017.

The cozy cabin measures 16’ x 16’ and boasts and 8 x 16’ deck facing the sea.  Enchanting views of the expansive sea include a tiny island in front of the property as well as Guadeloupe and Marie Galante in the distance.

Designed with an open floor plan, there are 2 bunk beds, a small fridge, gas stove, a ½ bathroom with sink and toilet and an outside shower.  A ceiling fan and wide wooden shutters ensure good ventilation throughout.  Also included are a table and chairs on the deck, LL Bean kayak, river tube and other necessities for comfortable and fun beachfront living.

Currently the cabin enjoys off-grid status with solar panels and a 200 gal water tank. However, water and utilities are already available nearby and can be connected easily and quickly if one desires.

Rising up from the beach, the land is predominantly red soil. Coconut palms, almond, mango and a coffee tree are present as well as a lawn. Ornamental and flowering shrubs and plants complete the picture-perfect landscape.

The setting is peaceful and private with a friendly and supportive community. A small shop and beach bar are located at the other end of the beach, perhaps a minute walk away.

The popular village of Calibishi is a 10 min drive away and it is approx. 25 min driving time to the Douglas Charles airport. Portsmouth with all its amenities is a 20 min drive.
